6G Systems and Non-Terrestrial Networks

The upcoming 6G mobile communication systems integrate space and terrestrial networks for global wireless connectivity. Thus, novel architectures to dynamically configure functionalities in non-terrestrial segments, addressing challenges introduced by satellite movement and network integration are needed.

6G aspires to achieve a Ubiquitous Intelligent Mobile System offering

    • scalable and effective provisioning of heterogeneous and on demand services
    • three-dimensional connectivity based on the integration between non-terrestrial and terrestrial networks

  • Definition of orchestration strategies in cutting-edge network architecture
  • Investigation of dynamic allocation of VNFs across satellites
  • AI-based configuration of MEC services
